Dr. Avgoustos Tsinakos received the following degrees:

BSc in Physics (1992), from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece
MSc in Applied Artificial Intelligence (1993), from University of Aberdeen in Scotland , under the ESF scholarship.
AGDDE(T) Advanced Graduate Diploma in Distance Education Technology (1999), form Athabasca University of Canada ,
MDE Master in Distance Education (2000), form Athabasca University of Canada ,
Ph.D. degree on "Artificial Intelligence and Internet (Asynchronous Distance Education)" (2002), in the Department of Applied Informatics in the University of Macedonia , Greece.

National Research Projects Coordination:

  1. Member of the authoring team of the "Wings of Hermes" project. The central aim of the project was the distance training of Greek tutors (1998).
  2. Coordinator for the Univ. of Macedonia of the GUNet (Global University Network) research projects regarding Real Time Services, Video On Demand and News (1998-1999).
  3. Technical coordinator for the Univ. of Macedonia of the EDUnet (Educational Network) research project, supervised by the Greek Ministry of Education (1999-2005).
  4. Member of the National Technical Coordinator Team of the "EDUnet" project supervised by the Greek Ministry of Education. The central aim of the project is the Internet connectivity for the schools of Secondary Level Education (2001-2005)
  5. Member of the "Coordinator Educational Team" for the "Information Society project" supervised by the Greek Ministry of Education. The central aim of the project is teacher's further education on New Educational Technologies (2002).
  6. Supervisor of Advanced Telematic Services (Synchronous & Asynchronous Distance Education) of the Educational Network team (2003-2005).
  7. Member of the National Deontology and Content Committee of the Greek Ministry of Education for the "EDUnet" project. The central aim of the Committee is students’ protection against violent or annoying navigations (2003-to present)
